Let’s start with a truly delicious homemade barbeque sauce recipe, one that was handed down to me years ago by a trusted friend.  No promises were made at the exchange, save one: this recipe may very well change your life.  Life-changing?  Well…probably not — but I can guarantee that this recipe is a good one.  Try it out for yourself on everything from burgers to steaks, then let me know what you think about this BBQ sauce recipe.

Here goes:

Prep: 15 minutes    Cooking Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup ketchup
1 cup molasses
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1/3 cup onion
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 small can tomato juice (5.5 ounces)
1 tablespoon liquid smoke

Preparation and Cooking:

1.  This is easy.  Puree everything on the above list to a nice smooth consistency in your blender.

2.  Pour the mixture into a saucepan, and bring to a boil over high heat on the stove.  Reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for an hour or so.  Can be used immediately after heating.  Refrigerate unused portion.
