McRib Returns. End of the World Next?
No choice but to voice my opinion here. I’ve “taste-tested” the McDonald’s McRib before, years ago when it was a menu staple at the Golden Arches. I was curious.
In theory, I suppose, it may have seemed like a good idea to execs at McDonald’s back then. “Appeal to barbeque loving America,” went the wisdom, or so I imagine. Problem was, the rib “patty” that was passed off as barbeque ribs, or ribs subsititute, or whatever, was awful. No matter how much barbeque sauce you put on the thing it’s just not going to work. Should a decent barbeque rib be chewy? The McRib was.
Look, I get it: you have to mass produce the stuff somehow in order to “McDonald-ize” it. But the end result in this case didn’t work — at least to real barbeque loving folk. (and if you’re reading this, I’ll assume you’re barbeque-loving.)
Yet here it comes again. The McRib returns, and it’s not good news.
